Hey all!! And welcome back! I’m so excited to share a project I have been wanting to do for two years! And for those who are tuning in! I’m excited to share it with you all!
Well I have made a foot tall Christmas tree! Let’s take a look!
I made it completely out of nails, clear builder gel, buffing blocks, regular polish, hard color and glitter gels, and rhinestones! It took an entire day to make minus the hour nap. But it was so worth it! I started at 7 am and finished at 6:20pm.
When I started I was trying to come up with a way to display the nails so that they had a uniform Christmas tree shape, not just any regular ol tree. It had to be slender and smooth. So my mom suggested I use a foam cone, which worked perfectly. While I am always trying to use 100% nails products, sometimes you just can’t, I mean what product would give that thickness?
So to begin, my wonderful friend and client helped me polish all of the nails with different shades of green polish and glitters. Once they air dried, I came days later to adhere them all to the cone with hard gel curing together about 4-6 at a time. It took the longest especially since this cannot fit under a lamp, like a hand. Also the nails wanted to shift a lot.
Once all the nails were on, I created the star which is on a orange wood stick, and then I created a tree skirt which is a red color gel and clear builder gel for strength. I add fun white swirls to decorate it. Each gift under the tree is a buffer block cut in half and painted. That was actually quite fun to do.
Lastly, I stoned the tree to give it an iridescent feel and to have lights. And a small touch I added silver foils to the tree to be like a tinsel.
Overall I very proud of how it turned out and I’m so glad I finished it. I will say this morning I was very discouraged and almost gave up because I could see the white cone in between the nails. And I didn’t want that kind of quality, but I stuck to it and made it better and it turned out great!!
I hope you all enjoy it, and if you have any questions on anything just reach out to me, oh, and have a very Merry Christmas! See ya later sweets!
