Have you read Paula’s new book, “All That Glitters”?

Hi! Welcome back, I know it has been a minute since I’ve written and I do want to become more structured than I am currently. I’m always trying to do something, but I just never plan it right.

Well when it comes to Paula Nichols Davies new book, All That Glitters. It is nice novice novel that recounts the life of a nail technician and gives insight on how to improve your salon and nail tech experiences.

When I first met Paula Marie she kind of shook me with her joy and I did not know how to take her, but I think I was just scared of a person who is so jolly and commanding. Ha! Sounds like Santa. Anywho, I have written about Paula before so I wanted to discuss what made her book so amazing for me.

This wonderful book covers all the basis of the nail world. She begins with her son’s loving tale of his moms life, followed by salon living and etiquette. Each chapter goes from beyond the doorway, to supplies we need, and into our morning routine.

A big chapter is dedicated to trade shows, which I didn’t even know existed until I went to nail school. Probably one of my favorite chapters, it covers many helpful tools and advice for navigating and planning, you couldn’t ask for a better cheat sheet!

What I love about this book, is that it gives you recommendations and full charts on what all to carry, the basics, and then also how to schedule time and supply costs. I would of never imagined to sit and write these tables and charts to make my life better, I was just hoping for the best. But she is guiding me in the direction I didn’t even know I needed.

Picking up this book has definitely been rewarding, with her humor and sass she gets every point across with tact and grace. Through its many and useful tools and wisdom from the past, she too can help guide you, I believe. I hope you all get a chance to read it too! Until then, I’ll see ya later sweets!
