Black History Nails from Black Artists!

Good morning! Its Black History Month, and what better way to celebrate, than with black history nails, or mainly, nails form black artists! Last year I thought it was great to showcase designs specifically dedicated to Black History Month. But this year I said let’s change it up. So instead I would like to feature nails by my black nail tech friends and give them a platform to show off their art and skills. Because one day they will inspire other artists and become black history themselves!

Each artist below is near and dear to me and has done wonderful things in their career, I want to pay it forward and give them a time to shine! And whether you are a gel user or acrylic, this is for every black artist out there, that you are seen and you are heard.

First up we have Angela Wigglesworth, a fabulous and fun nail technician in Washington, D.C. Angela is specialist in her salon, Naturally Nailed. Specializing in pedicures, diabetic foot care, toe nail reconstruction and more, she has what it takes to transform your life one nail at a time.

Next up we have the wonderful and bright, Yanick Myss Parker from Maryland! Working at the prestigious Hair on You Salon, Yanick has demonstrated that every manicure is more than a manicure, she radiates energy that uplifts women and has a joyous spirit that can’t be contained. When you get a service by her, you’re gonna be in the right hands. (pun intended)

Located in North Carolina, the ever stunning Lekisha Moore! Lekisha is the proud owner of Glam Bliss Nail Boutique. A beautiful salon location with multiple services, and she even has her own boutique inside as well. A dream of hers for many years, she has a gorgeous one stop shop for every woman. Nails, clothes, accessories, she has it all for you!

Down south we have Astasia Roosevelt, located in Atlanta, Ga. Astasia has cemented herself as true skilled woman of many talents, not only owning her salon, Vibin Nailz, she is a keynote speaker, and has encouraged many other women to go after their dreams and become business women themselves.

Rounding out the group is the airbrushing queen herself, Chloe Reed. Located in San Antonio, Texas, she is the owner of Glam NailZ by Chloe. Chloe is a fabulous educator teaching many classes and has won numerous awards as well. If you ever wanna learn airbrushing she’s the queen to teach ya!

I love supporting my friends, and everyone did and continues to do such an amazing job. I think it’s so important to always support and uplift our community. We are strong individuals, and many times does society focus on music, and film for showcasing black artists, but it’s not always in the art division. So I love that I can have a platform and gather my friends to showcase their skills.

I think it’s amazing what they do. Just like Dr. King, they had a dream and they went for it, and didn’t let anyone or anything stand in their way. This is what success looks like. It’s happy, it is proud, and it is thriving. If you enjoyed this post leave a comment below and be sure to check out more nail art here. I’ll see you later sweets!
