I want to tell a quick story.
Anna Wesolowska has been on a nail pedestal in my mind ever since I’ve known of her. This was years ago. Back when she was 27, she’s still 28 now lol that right there is a joke ya see. Cause she’s so youthful!
But anyway, her work is so incredible, her fashion is so commanding, and her presence is so full of charisma that I said, “yup, never talking to her, I’m kfc and she’s red lobster, let me go sit over there”. And I finally met her at Nail Camp, so I believe it was then, and I toured her station, looked at her art in person and said again, “yup, I’m staying over here gonna play in some play-doh while she creates monuments of art.”

And as time passes, the usual happens, you post on social media they post as well and you become known acquaintances. So when you go to a nail event you can say hi and hope they remember a smidgen of a nail you’ve made. That didn’t happen with Anna, I saw her again at Gatlinburg and I gave my hi and a wave and said you be tough and strong now, go be loud and ya normal self and say “hunny how ya been!” but inside I was sweating so much you could fill a pool. I was like ok we are chatting, now Madison play it cool, your jokes are an oven right now, so turn it on low and simmer, just soak up whatever she has to say. Her words are like golden nuggets. And I wasn’t gonna waste any in that moment.
She grabbed my hand and like a shy puppy I got real small and felt immense pressure. Now because she has a strong grip, but because I was very intimidated. My heart was beating so fast I could have started a car that day but I didn’t say a word. She gave my nails compliments and said she loved my work, and the nails I do. When I tell you I shit so many bricks even the big bad wolf couldn’t blow me down. I was in utter shock. I said WHAT! You like my nails? My ghetto girl, stripper wearing, fully stoned, junk drawer piece of elegance?? My gawd!

I was overjoyed! Do you hear me, oh, eh read me? We obviously have two very different styles, and the woman who I admired for so long said she liked what I did. Oh hunny you couldn’t steal my joy for nothing. But that was in Gatlinburg. And ever since then I said oh hunny we’re friends now. Gonna have to get a court order to let me go.
So that was interaction #1, number two came when she went to my Nail Carnival a year later. This is when we had our first 1 on 1 convo out of the public ya know. And nooo I won’t say a single thing that was said, BUT, this very moment changed my view of her forever.
We learned so much of each other, the advice given, the learning of lifestyles, and the goals and ambitions exchanged was a symphony to my ears. Because for years I put her in this box, we all do as humans. And she is no box lady I will tell you! She is every synonym of the word “wonderful”.
When I say Anna has so much to offer with nails, education, life, and creative passion, that I truly believe anyone would blessed to sit at a table with her. Blessed.
All that to say, I’ve met Anna Wesolowska finally. And if you haven’t yet. You should! Everyone is a nail friend, you just gotta say hi!
