Hello all! Have you got your bags packed? Cause we are one week away from The Fun Fancy Nails Event in Marlborough, Massachusetts. This jam-packed event is held every year in September, and is a nails only show! There aren’t too many of these shows going around so it is always a breath of fresh air to attend a nail only show. Let’s go over a few details for the new techs attending this year, and also learn a couple of things or two.
First up, when is the show? Well, this year of 2023, it will be September 24, located at the Best Western Royal Plaza Hotel and Trade Center. This fabulous hosting hotel is wonderful as you can rent a room for the night and wake up and go downstairs to attend the event! No car needed! Currently, ticket prices range from $85 for a Wicked Awesome Ticket to $40 for a student ticket. A Wicked Awesome Ticket includes lunch, and an exclusive “Bursting” Beauty Bag.
For those traveling in, you can conveniently fly into Logan International Airport, in Boston Massachusetts, and can arrange for a taxi or rideshare service. Now that you are informed on how to attend the event you are probably inquiring on what all happens inside. Well first I can say there will be lots of fun! When you arrive, there is a photo opportunity with a backdrop, and you’ll be welcomed inside to the sights and sounds of a nail world you dream of. Smell that fresh air as pedicure creams, soothing lotions, and cuticle oils drift you into a dream of why you became a nail technician in the first place.
Like all great nail show, The Fun Fancy Nails Event hosts workshops that you can take to educate yourself and make your work an improvement to wow your clients for the new season! These are held both Saturday and Monday for the Sunday show at the hotel. To look into which classes to take I suggest you visit the website for the specific classes being offered. These classes range from foot care, to nail art, to shape and structure. I guess you could say there’s a class for technician and that’s wonderful! Be sure to book ahead so that all of your times line up accordingly.
Now, once inside, my words go blank as I let you decide for yourself the direction you take, will it be for a pedicure demo, or a nail shopping spree to get everything on your list, or maybe socialize and network? I will leave that up to you! But what I can say is that there will be lunch time soon, and you should probably go grab a bite to eat to work up some more energy. Your card swiping hand has to endure the day hunny! So, take a break, unwind your mind, and relax before jumping back into the fray!
Are you ready for a surprise? There is a nail competition! That’s right, at the end of the show, nail techs all line up to hear the winners of different competitions. I believe the cut off times have ended so it would be counterproductive to include it in today but look out next year for the update to hear all the details if you would like to participate.
Now that you have shopped the booths, tickled your toes in new scrubs, and celebrated big wins, what’s next? Well, for me, it would be to go have dinner of course, try out the local eateries in the area and have one last night with your friends in town. Then, make a mad dash to your room, and go through all your nail goodies! I think for me that was my favorite part, seeing all of my purchases and dreaming of their future applications or who would be using them. Who doesn’t like new things right?
