Hello and good morning! Today I wanted to tell you all about my top 5 gel nail brands! I thought this would be a fun series to showcase different brands and highlight my favorites. This would give you a chance to learn more about them and maybe some could interest you as well. This is helpful if you’re a new or seasoned nail tech and want to expand on what you already own or just looking to purchase something new.
If you haven’t already seen it, but I wrote another article on my top 5 favorite acrylic brands that can be found here. It’s helpful if you would like to dive into the world of acrylic. And luckily if you offer both in your salon this article is great for those who are looking for both lines. I know many nail techs who offer both styles of products.
So what about you? What is it you are looking for when it comes to gel nail products? Do you need something that flows smoothly and doesn’t run? Would you like a product that doesn’t move at all? Unlike acrylic that just works one way, gel can give you variety. I find this excellent as it can work differently for every nail tech. Some nail techs don’t want their get to move while others want it to spread a little bit. Also, while acrylic can be very hard and sturdy, gel would be more flexible and have a little give to it. So it’s best to find the products that could best benefit you.
So let’s dive deeper into these products so you can see what my favorites are and how you can choose the best one that works for you. I will also include some kits so that you can have a starter option as well. This is great if you are new to the line and want to experiment before going all in. Magic Gel
Magic Gel is a wonderful gel line that is ever growing. Based in Canada with a U.S. distributor, they have a top notch hard gel line, and also amazing acrygel line, giving you lots of range for your services. They also come out with gel polishes every season so that you can bring something new to your salon for your clients. I love Magic Gel because of its feasibility and product range. If I need a product for every kind of human out there, Magic Gel will have it.
Johens
Next up is Johens! This wonderful brand stands out in the nail industry for being hypoallergenic! Thats right, these gel products are healthy! And we love that in the nail industry. So many products can be so bad for you and cause reactions and allergies. It is always best to find healthy and approved products that are 100% safe to use. And while other nail products I’m mentioning are safe for you, I am letting you know these products are even safer! Some nail techs have developed allergies and have to find products like Johens so they can keep offering their services. What I suggest is to look into their “Pure” line of products, which range from hard gel to top coats and even into polishes. This will ensure you are using great products from beginning to end.
Akzéntz
Another fabulous brand is Akzentz. This would be a more premium line of gel products. They also offer a range of hard gels for building shape and structure into the nails and they also offer soak off products as well. We love versatility around here, yes we do. Their highlights of their company would be the pro-formance gels, they are a beautiful range of hard gels in many colors to match the skin tones of your clients, and they also have the Luxio line. The Luxio line is a premium line of gel polishes that soak off and give incredible coverage. They are one coat and feel velvety smooth on the nail. These products are truly top notch.
So-Gel Nails Supply Company
One of my true favorites here’s the lovely SO Gel Nails line. Based in Utah this wonderful company is privately owned and operated and makes their own products in house. An growing company, I have had the opportunity to test out and try their gels and I must say they are done good! Amazing really. Just recently the owner released a new gel polish line and it is huge! Called “I am”, it is a fabulous array of colors that spark and inspire your best artist within you. And luckily you can buy them all in a kit to save on pricing. This is wonderful for the new nail tech looking to expand their polish line and are unsure of which direction they want to take. I highly recommend SO Gel nails, you won’t be disappointed.
Ugly Duckling Nails Inc
Last but not least is Ugly Duckling Nails Inc. This wonderful company is another premium brand. They are also based out of Canada and are very well known for their products. One of their most famous products is the Schtick it gel which is used to adhere rhinestones and gems to nails. I feel as though they pioneered this and many were to follow but I haven’t done my research to be sure. However. what they do have is amazing products, and wow do they work well. If you’re looking for awesome products with great integrity and longevity then be sure to look here. They are the way to go.
So tell me, did you learn about some wonderful new products today? Each brand has amazing and beautiful highlights about them to make them stand out. But it’s one thing you can be certain of. They all hold up incredibly well. This is important as you truly want to use the best products on your clients and make sure they last as long as they can, whether that is from 2 weeks to 5 weeks.
Also you want to be sure you are using healthy products that aren’t just being made anywhere. A company that can back up their quality with intense research and studies is super important to have. I know for me, I only want the best products in my salon. So give these a try and see what works best for you.
